昨年は東京・渋谷 NHKホールで行われた「METAL GEAR IN CONCERT 2023」にてCynthia Harrellが日本では初となる「Snake Eater」生歌唱を披露して話題を呼び、衰えぬ支持の厚さがゲーム・プレイに留まらないことを改めて印象付けた『METAL GEAR』シリーズ（コナミデジタルエンタテインメント）。その聴覚的な魅力を『METAL GEAR SOLID』シリーズ楽曲を中心にリマスター音源とヘヴィウェイト・ヴァイナルで再確認できる作品『METAL GEAR SOLID: THE VINYL COLLECTION』（Vinyl 6LP）、『METAL GEAR SOLID: VINYL SELECTIONS』（Vinyl 2LP）が、「Konami Digital Entertainment」とゲーム・サウンドトラックに特化したリリースでおなじみの英「Laced Records」のコラボレーションにより発売されます。10月10日（木）には国内流通仕様盤も発売。
『METAL GEAR SOLID』（1998）から『METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN』（2015）までのナンバリング・タイトルを軸に、『METAL GEAR SOLID PORTABLE OPS』（2006）、『METAL GEAR SOLID PEACE WALKER』（2010）、そして『METAL GEAR 2: SOLID SNAKE』からのアイコニックな楽曲群をオフィシャル・アレンジやメドレーなどを交えて収録。インナー / アウター・スリーヴには、新川洋司によるレジェンダリーなアートワークがプリントされています。
